LeBron James' historic NBA points streak has come to an end, but in a way that felt perfectly LeBron James.
On Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Toronto Raptors 123-120 on Rui Hachimura's last-second game-winning three pointer. While the Lakers walked off the Raptors in incredible fashion, James ended the night with just eight points, the lowest of any regular season game he's played since 2007. Yes, James' stunning record run of scoring 10-plus points ended at 1,287 consecutive games.
The streak felt like it was bound to break eventually, with James slowly working his way back from sciatica that held him out of games until mid-November. At the end of Thursday's game, James had a chance to get the game-winner — and the two points he needed — for himself to keep the streak going, yet passed the opportunity to Hachimura instead.
Talk about classy from James!
