EVANSDALE, Iowa —
Friday, Dec. 5, marks 13 years since the bodies of two Evansdale cousins, 8-year-old Elizabeth Collins and 10-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey, were discovered in a wooded area in Bremer County, and the case remains unsolved.
Hunters found the girls' bodies in the Seven Bridges Wildlife Area, about 25 miles from Evansdale, where they went missing during a bike ride on July 13, 2012.
KCCI has been following this case since it began, and in July, it was reported that the state DCI crime lab is using new technology to test evidence related to the case .
Elizabeth's parents remain hopeful for justice.
