With multiple vacancies in their outfield, the high-spending Mets are a possible landing spot for top free agents like Cody Bellinger and Kyle Tucker.

Another way to import a proven commodity this winter would be to trade for an outfielder.

Even if top prospect Carson Benge wins a roster spot this spring — he’ll play a role with the Mets next year, but it’s unlikely that he breaks camp with the big-league club — there’s one more spot to fill after the Brandon Nimmo trade.

Here are four outfielders who could be moved this offseason that the Mets should pursue. All four of them would be tremendous fits on defense, fitting the run prevention mold that president of baseball operations David Stearns has been prioritizing this offseason.
