WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Unity Spiritual Center welcomes the community to two holiday observances celebrating stillness, renewal and the spiritual return of light.
First there is the Winter Solstice Community Concert and Labyrinth Walk at 6 p.m. Dec. 21.
The term “solstice” comes from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still).
On this longest night of the year, we gather as generations before us have done to recognize the turning of the season, honoring the end of deepening darkness and the gentle emergence of light.
Surrounded by the glow of candlelight, guests will be immersed in a moving evening of music by music director Matthew Wilson and senior minister the Rev. Richard Loren Held.
