LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Clark County’s Sheriff took to social media to say why he wants to fire one of his own sergeants.

In his Facebook post, Sheriff Scott Maples explained that he wants to fire Sergeant Thomas Higdon due to deputies claiming they don’t feel safe working with the officer.

The Sheriff shared body camera video showing a response to a case dating back to August 24, 2025.

Maples says deputies got word this was a suspect who had a history of fighting with police, and that ultimately, the deputies who responded did fight with this man and had to use their tasers.
