A six-second video captured McIlroy disappearing into thick native bushes on hole 14 during Thursday’s second round, searching for an errant shot. The clip, posted by Australia-based user @wefferch, quickly circulated on social media as McIlroy battled a challenging week at the sold-out tournament.

His opening round produced a 1-over 72, leaving him tied for 57th while leaders Elvis Smylie, Ryan Fox, and Carlos Ortiz sit at 6-under par.
