Singer Sabrina Carpenter recently spoke about the buzz surrounding her latest album cover ‘Man’s Best Friend’ explaining that the imagery was meant to tell a deeper story about relationships and personal control.

The 26-year-old artist faced strong reactions earlier this year when the cover was revealed, showing her on all fours, with her hair being pulled by a faceless figure. While some called it provocative, Sabrina says the artwork reflects her own experiences.

“It was about how people try to control women, and how I felt emotionally yanked around by these relationships that I had,” she told ‘Variety’, via ‘FemaleFirst’. “It was about recognising the power you give to others and reclaiming it.”
