CANTON, Ohio — Avon waited more than 50 years for its first OHSAA football state championship.

The Eagles waited just one year for their second.

The Eagles took down Cincinnati Anderson on Thursday, 37-20, in the OHSAA Division II state championship at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. It was a rematch of last season’s final, won by the Eagles, 20-13.
