A man was hospitalized Thursday night after being shot by deputies outside a home in Paramount, according to the LA County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies responded to an emergency call around 9:22 p.m. on Alhambra Avenue near Mission Road. A woman reported her boyfriend was outside her residence with a firearm, LASD said.

The man was hospitalized after being struck by deputy gunfire, according to the LASD. The condition of the man was unclear.

Details leading up to the shooting were not immediately available. No deputy was injured in the shooting.

LASD says a minor was in the area where the shooting took place but was not injured.
