New Delhi: The new Nissan Kait midsize SUV has been revealed for the Latin American market. It has made its debut in Brazil and is basically a refreshed version of the previous Nissan Kicks, but with updated styling and a new name. Nissan has started building the Kait at its Resende plant in Brazil. From 2026 onwards, the company will export the SUV to more than 20 countries, mostly across South America.

The Kait is built on the same V-platform as the Kicks and will be Nissan’s new entry-level SUV that may replace Kicks. It runs on a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 110hp and 146Nm. It only comes with a CVT gearbox, and Nissan says it can return around 11kpl in city use. In Brazil, prices start at R$117,990, which is roughly Rs 20 lakh.
