Nathan Lyon who is Australia’s third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket was left out from the playing XI despite being a standout performer. The selectors opted for a heavy pace attack for the second Test of Ashes in Brisbane, leaving their premier spinner sidelined.

This decision did not go well with Nathan Lyon and it came as a surprise for him. Lyon clearly mentioned speaking to Channel 7 that he reached around 12 and the decision was communicated to him at 12:30, just minutes after he came. On Day 1 of Brisbane Test, Lyon did not hide his frustration and said that he was extremely disappointed to stay out.

“Yeah, I found out, I come to ground, as I always do, pretty early, about 12 o’clock, and found out about 12.30.”
