1Woman shot on Liberty Heights Avenue in early morning Baltimore gunfire

BALTIMORE, MD – A woman is recovering in the hospital after being shot just before 1 a.m. Thursday on Liberty Heights Avenue, as Northwest District detectives continue to investigate the overnight shooting.

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue at approximately 12:56 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a 37-year-old woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where she is being treated for injuries that police say are not believed to be life-threatening.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives spent the early hours of the morning canvassing the area for evidence
