Meghan Markle's estranged father Thomas Markle has had his leg amputated in life-saving surgery after suffering a blood clot.
The 81 year old had his left leg below his knee removed in a three-hour long operation on Wednesday after a blood clot cut off circulation. He was rushed to hospital via ambulance earlier this week and was taken immediately into surgery.

After his initial operation to amputate his left lower leg and foot, Thomas now faces another operation to remove a blood clot in his left thigh.
