During the Christmas period and cold winter months, most early morning drivers have to first tackle the nuisance of frosted-up windscreens.

However, according to the RAC (Royal Automobile Club), there is a simple trick you can perform to stop them from freezing overnight.

Social media users have previously pointed out this sage advice, with one writing: "With winter here, clean the inside of your windshield. You’ll be surprised how many of those annoying streaks are on the inside."

Another replied, "Be sure to clean your windshield when there's no direct sunlight on it. That will help prevent streaks."
