Last season, an upstart Jenkins flag football team made school history as the first girls team in any sport to reach the state semifinals.

The Warriors lost to eventual state champion Greenbrier in the Final Four in a close game, and the setback has fueled the fire for this year's Jenkins squad.

On Thursday, the Warriors had an impressive showing as the Area 2-2A champions beat Mt. Zion 28-0 in the first round of the Division 2 playoffs, before taking down Pike County 19-6 in a second round win at Groves Stadium.
