Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite, winter chill is likely to return to Odisha with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of cold wave conditions in isolated pockets in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh and Angul on December 5-6.

In the last 24 hours, the mercury levels dropped below 10°C at four places in the state with Daringbadi being the coldest at 8.5°C, followed by Angul at 9°C and Jharsuguda and Rourkela at 9.6°C each. Angul recorded the highest drop of 5.7°C from normal, while Jharsuguda was close second at 3.9
