It’s no secret that New Jersey is preparing to host the biggest sporting event on the planet next summer when the 2026 FIFA World Cup comes to town.
A big part of the fun is finding out what teams will be on hand to compete at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, and that happens on Dec. 5 at noon.
The draw is taking place at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and will be a kickoff for the tournament, said New York-New Jersey Host Committee CEO Alex Lasry.
“This is when we find out who's playing in our region and what everyone's paths are going to be,” he said. “We also find out the match times, which really allows us to take the next stage in our planning of the entire tournament.”
