BEML Ltd has secured an order worth ₹157 crore from Loram Rail Maintenance India Pvt Ltd for the manufacturing of switch rail grinding machines.
These machines will be supplied to Indian Railways for track maintenance, the company said in an exchange filing. As of 1:56 pm, shares of BEML were trading at ₹1,767.90 on the NSE, down 0.34% after hitting an intraday high of ₹1,806.50.
The order comes a day after BEML won a ₹414 crore contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) to supply additional trainsets for the Namma Metro Phase II project. The back-to-back wins strengthen BEML’s growing rail and metro portfolio — one of its core business verticals alongside defence and aerospace, and mining and construction.
