PROVIDENCE — No less ancient a text than the Gospel of Luke might explain the feeling we’ll encounter Saturday afternoon at Amica Mutual Pavilion.

Men’s basketball fans from Providence College and the University of Rhode Island will share more than this latest edition of their in-state blood feud on Dec. 6. There figures to be quite a few Rams and Friars who will have their eyes trained keenly on the sidelines, studying every decision made by their respective head coaches.

There is some considerable heat on Archie Miller and Kim English at the moment, and that scrutiny comes for various reasons. Perhaps it can be traced to whatever interpretation of the New Testament you’d like to employ here, verses that date back more than 1,900 years.
