With its $7 million budget and a 19-day shooting schedule, the upcoming movie “They Fight” might not be the largest production ever to come through Charm City — but it tells what surely is one of the most heartwarming stories.
The film features Walt Manigan, a boxing coach and ex-convict who finds redemption by mentoring three young boys from an impoverished Washington, D.C., neighborhood as they punch and parry their way to the 2017 Junior Olympics.
“They Fight” will be released next summer on streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu.
