An Annapolis City Council member, with the support of Mayor Jared Littmann , is set to introduce a yearlong moratorium on short-term rental applications in the first meeting of the new City Council following November city elections .

The moratorium, sponsored by Ward 2 Alderman Karma O’Neill and co-sponsored by Littmann , is set to be introduced on Monday along with council standing committee appointments and the city’s budget schedule.

If passed, the moratorium would prohibit new short-term rental licenses except for permit renewals, owner-occupied rentals, and rentals on days coinciding with Naval Academy graduation ceremonies, as well as the spring and fall boat shows.
