The UK is braced for a wall of snow spanning 680 miles from the east of England to the north coast of Scotland. The latest weather maps from forecaster WXCharts show the blizzard hitting ahead of Christmas , with temperatures set to plummet below freezing in some areas.

According to the charts, the snow will arrive on Saturday, December 20. At 12am, they show a wall of snow spanning across the UK with the mercury as low as -7C in Scotland. A winter overview map shows a stretch of purple, identifying snow depth, covering Ipswich and Norwich, as well as the whole North East coast line all the way into Scotland.
