This footage shows the moment petrol was collected by two arsonists responsible for reversing a car into John Henry Sayers' property and setting it on fire. Five men have been jailed for a total of 25 years after the incident in Byker, Newcastle.

Newcastle Crown Court heard how a Range Rover was reversed into the former Lou's Diner, underneath Sayers' home on Fossway, on February 2 this year . After it was crashed into the doors of the cafe, it was torched.

CCTV footage shows Sayers emerge from the property, where he was with his family, and move the burning car away from the building, which prevented the fire spreading inside. The defendants had already torched a car belonging to Sayers two days earlier and went back to "finish the job".
