India sent a sharp message to Pakistan as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Russia's Putin by his side , called for united action against terrorism while citing this year's Pahalgam massacre and the 2024 Crocus City Hall attack in Moscow. The timing of PM Modi's message coincided with Pakistan formally appointing Field Marshal Asim Munir, an India-baiter, as the country's first-ever Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
In his joint media briefing with Putin, who visited India after four years, PM Modi emphasised that Delhi and Moscow have long cooperated "shoulder-to-shoulder" in the fight against terrorism. "Whether it is the terrorist attack in Pahalgam or the cowardly assault on the Crocus City Hall - the root of all these incidents is the same," PM Modi said.
