New Delhi: Indian Super League clubs, except East Bengal, have appealed to the All India Football Federation for amendment of its new constitution before a new tender could be floated for the top-tier competition’s stalled 2025-26 edition.
As only three days are left before expiration of AIFF ‘s 15-year master rights agreement with Reliance-subsidiary FSDL on December 8, bleeding clubs have sought urgent action fearing loss of their principal source of income.
Revenue stream from FSDL’s central pool has served as the major chunk of clubs’ income since ISL was founded in 2014, but a failed tender process has left them high and dry and struggling to meet contractual obligations.
Salaries were halted, operations suspended temporarily but despite Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavijay
