IOWA CITY — Tradon Bessinger was good at this. Too good, actually.
There were times when Bessinger would take reps at quarterback on the scout team at Davis High School to help prepare the first-team defense for what they would see from their opponents.
“But the problem is, Tradon did it so well,” said Davis coach Scott Peery, “and our defensive coordinator would look back at him and me and be like, 'Just so you know, on Friday night, their quarterback’s not going to make that throw,' in a joking manner.”
Bessinger, who officially signed with Iowa football on Dec. 3, is one of the crown jewels in the Hawkeyes’ 2026 high school recruiting class. The Kaysville, Utah, product is the highest-ranked recruit in the team's 2026 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
