European Cinema trade body UNIC (International Union of Cinemas), whose members operate 43,500 screens in 39 European countries, has slammed Netflix ‘s blockbuster deal for Warner Bros and said it will do all it can to make sure EU and other legislators are aware of the potential impact on theatrical.

Inevitably, the organization is fearful about the impact on the exhibition business, despite Netflix saying this morning that it “expects to maintain Warner Bros.’ current operations” and “build on its strengths, including theatrical releases for films.”
