One person has been taken to hospital following a crash in County Durham.
Police, fire, and ambulance crews were called to the incident on North Burns, in Chester-le-Street, at around 10.53am today (Friday, December 5).
Pictures taken at the scene showed at least five 999 vehicles, including two fire engines, parked along the busy road near the Villiers Place junction just before midday.
The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that one person was treated and discharged on scene and another was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham (UHND).
A spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on North Burns in Chester-Le-Street this morning (5 December) at 10.53am.
