Eric Robertson , co-chef of two-Michelin starred Restaurant Pearl Morissette in Niagara, has cooked and dined far and wide, from Canada to France, Belgium, Spain, Italy and Egypt, among others.
When he was a young man vying to make it as a chef, he spent more than he could afford, eating at fine-dining restaurants, the better to learn the craft.
But for all his gastronomical globe-trotting, the east Hamilton resident who grew up in Brantford is all about the local.
“I love good, simple food, those are the places I enjoy,” he said.
When asked to list his favourite Hamilton eateries, the co-owner of the No. 1 ranked restaurant in Canada does not hesitate.
