Aberdeen have confirmed Gavin Molloy has been ruled out for two months after suffering a significant injury in the 3-3 draw with St Mirren.
The Dons defender had been on the pitch mere moments in the latter stages of the game when he was involved in a heavy collision that forced him off and left Jimmy Thelin's side with 10 men late on. Richard King went on to grab the equaliser in the 99th-minute.
Now, the club have announced he will be out of action for up to eight weeks after sustaining ligament damage in his knee. His injury comes ahead of Aberdeen's final group games in Europe and a packed fixture schedule during the festive season.
Molloy's return at earliest looks likely to be early February when the Dons host Celtic at Pittodrie before trips to Dundee United and Motherwell.
