FORT MILL — With a crowd of supporters and two fellow runners by his side a Fort Mill native set out on a multi-day, 200-mile run to Charleston.
Though it’s sure to be the most physically difficult thing he’s ever done, Ryan Cass said he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Cass, who turned 33 on Dec. 4, which is also the day he began the run, started his morning at the wrestling room in the Fort Mill High School gym where he delivered a speech to encourage current members of the wrestling team that changed his life as a student there years earlier.
“There’s somebody that would love to have your worst day,” Cass told the student-athletes. “When you’re feeling a little sorry for yourself, remember that somebody else is going through something more challenging.”
