LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The University of Nebraska Board of Regents will vote Friday during their meeting on cutting $27.5 million from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s budget.

Friday morning, Varner Hall was already a busy scene well before the meeting started, with protesters outside, some displaying coffin props of possibly cut departments recently seen at ‘funeral march’ on Wednesday.
UNL Chancellor Rodney Bennett submitted the final budget reduction plan to the board for consideration in November, in an effort to support the university’s long-term future.
The board will vote on whether to eliminate four academic programs at the university to save an estimated $6.74 million. The programs at risk include:
