A popular bakery chain has closed all shops just weeks before the busy Christmas season has begun.

The group, known as the East Bristol Bakery, has called off its operations completely after "trade dropped significantly" as well as suffering from a rat infestation.

Customers all over one area of Britain have been left devastated by the news as the Easton, Wapping Whard and Old Market locations wave goodbye to shoppers.

The statement from the chain read: “We’ve had to close the doors at East Bristol Bakery.

“We want to be transparent about why. Over the last 12 months midweek trade has dropped significantly and has not recovered. Recruitment has become extremely challenging for the past six months.
