Update: GVL2040 comprehensive plan

City staff presented public input in response to the GVL 2040 Comprehensive Plan ahead of its upcoming five-year update.

The next steps include drafting recommendations in December and January, with a draft to be posted Feb. 26, 2026 for the City Council retreat. A public hearing and adoption of the update are scheduled for spring.

Some of the public sentiments included: • Support for continued Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail expansion • Support for the city’s prioritization of open space and purchase of land for maintaining open space • Protection of trees and tree canopies • A concern about limited Greenlink services • Support for increased bicycle infrastructure
