Florida football locked down Tulane's Jon Sumrall as its 31st coach in program history on Nov. 30 after missing out on the big prize, Ole Miss 's Lane Kiffin, who wound up at rival LSU.

The Sun's Kevin Brockway, Andrew Abadie and Noah Ram all offered opinions on the Sumrall hire and what it means for the Florida Gators moving forward.

Brockway said he's surprised that Florida went the Group of 5 route again after Billy Napier failed with the Florida Gators following his success at Louisiana. But Brockway was swayed somewhat after Sumrall made a strong impression at his introductory press conference on Dec. 1.
