WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (WLNE) — A Taunton man is facing an animal cruelty charge after a traffic stop revealed a severely malnourished dog in his vehicle, according to West Bridgewater police.
The 27-year-old was pulled over November 24 just before noon for allegedly running a red light on North Main Street.
The officer noticed a significantly underweight dog in the vehicle during the stop, according to police.
The nine-month old puppy named Sprout was taken to Westbridge Veterinary Referral Hospital for treatment.
According to police, an investigation determined that the driver was the dog’s owner.
