Family of mum who died of rabies after dog scratch ask if NHS was 'ready' for her View 2 Images

The family of a much-loved mum who tragically died after contracting rabies from a dog scratch have questioned whether the NHS was "ready" to handle her condition, a pre-inquest review heard.

Yvonne Ford, 59, passed away four months after being "slightly" scratched by a puppy during a holiday in Morocco. She contracted rabies from the scratch and sadly died in a Sheffield hospital on June 11, YorkshireLive reports .
