Border War is heading to KC.
For the first time since the 1996-97 Big 12 title game, Missouri basketball and Kansas are set to meet at the state line in Kansas City, with this year’s Border War matchup Sunday, Dec. 7, at T-Mobile Center.
The first football games, spanning the 19th and 20th centuries, between these bitter rivals were played in or near Kansas City, but the basketball games have traditionally been an on-campus affair. The next two games in the revived series — and the last two under the current arrangement — will take place on a neutral floor.
Mizzou (8-1) lost to Notre Dame in the ACC/SEC Challenge on Tuesday night. The Tigers beat KU 76-67 in the Border War at Mizzou Arena, and fans stormed Norm Stewart Court.
