India rolled out an elaborate culinary showcase for Russian President Vladimir Putin at a state dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday, featuring a specially curated Indian thali highlighting regional flavours, seasonal produce and traditional cooking techniques.

The vegetarian menu opened with Murungelai Chaaru, a delicately spiced broth of moringa leaves and moong beans. A trio of appetisers followed, including Gucchi Doon Chetin - stuffed Kashmiri morels with walnut chutney, Kaale Chane ke Shikampuri kebabs served with mint sauce and sheermal, and pelmeni-inspired vegetable jhol momos.
