The mercury has dipped once again across Odisha, ushering in a fresh wave of cold weather. In the last 24 hours, five cities recorded minimum nighttime temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, with Daringbadi registering the lowest at 8.5°C.
According to data from the Bhubaneswar Regional Meteorological Centre, the chill has returned after a brief respite. Centre Director Manorama Mohanty stated that cold conditions will persist in the state until next Saturday, accompanied by dense fog in isolated areas.
Besides Daringbadi, other affected cities include Angul at 9°C, Rourkela and Jharsuguda at 9.6°C each, and both G Udayagiri and Phulbani at 10°C. Dense fog was observed in Phulbani, Koraput, and Rourkela, while moderate fog blanketed Sonpur, Bhawanipatna, and Gopalpur.
