KARACHI:

One more incident, highlighting the Karachi’s persistent manhole hazards, occurred in Manghopir, where a five-year-old girl narrowly escaped death after falling into a sewer pit outside a private school.

According to police, the incident occurred near Garam Chashma in Union Committee No. 2, where first grader Inayah Amin slipped into the manhole while returning home with classmates after school. Other children raised alarm, prompting a passerby to rescue her in time. The manhole was four to five feet deep luckily with little sewage water.
