LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing a 19-year-old at a downtown Lincoln parking garage Thursday night.

Just after 10:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a man being stabbed in the garage near North 11th and Q streets.

The victim told officers that he and another man had seen the suspect, later identified as 34-year-old Michaelangelo Newell of Lincoln, sitting in the lobby of a nearby apartment building as they were leaving.

The victim told police that as he and another man walked out, Newell followed them to the parking garage. Newell then yelled at the victim and made a stabbing motion with an unknown sharp object, causing a small laceration to the victim’s shoulder.

After reviewing surveillance video, officers identified Newell. He was arrested a
