SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

The Jesuit water polo team's season is over but they're playing the giving game at the 2025 CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive .

The guys collected donations for the CHiPs for Kids toy drive and dropped them off before school in honor of Head Coach Josh Ford.

Coach Ford spent his teen years in the foster care system, bouncing between 12 different foster care homes. A CASA advocate stepped in on his 14th birthday and told him that he'd buy him a cellphone if he committed to playing a high school sport and getting good grades. That sport ended up being water polo and it changed Coach Ford's life.

His athletes say Ford has shared his personal troubles as a teenager to inspire them to look beyond their own challenges and be kind to others.
