SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Power banks sold by Amazon face recall after several devices caught fire and caused injuries and property damage.
The INIU brand power banks feature black or blue cases with the company’s logo and a paw-print LED light on the front. The devices were sold on Amazon in 2021 and 2022.
The company received 15 reports of the power banks overheating and 11 reports of fires. The incidents burned three people and caused $380,000 worth of property damage.
Consumers who purchased the affected power banks should stop using them immediately and contact the manufacturer for refund information.
The recall highlights ongoing safety concerns with portable charging devices and the importance of monitoring electronic products for signs of overheating or malfunction.
