The NHS has issued a flu warning as the health body relayed figures of the 'deepest concern.'
According to the health body, there are currently 56 per cent more people in hospital with flu this year compared with this time last year, as the NHS warns of ballooning cases coinciding with industrial action.
Latest figures have highlighted there were an average of 1,717 patients in a hospital bed every day last week because of flu – the highest on record for this time of year.
This data revealed cases are 10 times higher than in the same week in 2023 (160), and more than 50 per cent higher than last year (1,098).
