TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) — WALB has confirmed an officer-involved shooting in Tifton that occurred Friday morning as officers attempted to execute a search warrant.

According to the Tifton Police Department (TPD), two officers were shot during the attempt; both are currently in stable condition.

The suspect is barricaded inside a home near the 800 block of Lee Ave.

TPD is leading the investigation, and multiple surrounding law enforcement agencies have responded to assist. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed to WALB that TPD requested their assistance in investigating the incident.
