The plans for New Year's Eve fireworks in Sunderland city centre have been announced - featuring an X Factor star and a renowned DJ. The celebratory event, including what the council describes as a 'dazzling double display' of fireworks , will take place in Keel Square to welcome in 2026.

The line-up includes former X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East, famous DJ Michael Gray, Ibiza favourites Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago, and Ibiza in Symphony, who will keep the crowds entertained at the event on Wednesday, December 31.
