Florida announced the hiring of Nick Zimmerman as the school’s next women’s soccer coach on Friday, Dec. 5.
The Gators hired away Mississippi State’s sitting head coach, with Zimmerman leading MSU to a 12-7-1 record this past season.
“Florida is a place where championships are possible, and I’m excited for the opportunity to help lead this program back to the NCAA Tournament,” said Zimmerman in a press release. “This is a dream position for me. The University of Florida offers everything that resonates with top recruits-an elite athletic department, world-class facilities and support along with a top-10 academic experience.”
In Zimmerman’s first year leading the program, he led MSU to a 5-4-1 finish in conference play as well as an appearance in the NCAA tournament
