New Delhi, Dec 5: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that the National Medical Commission (NMC) Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir has been allotted one new medical college along with 379 MBBS seats and 118 postgraduate seats for the academic session 2025–26.

As per official figures submitted in the Lok Sabha, the ministry has approved the expansion of medical educational institutes and seats across the country. “The fresh allocation places J&K among the states and Union Territories that witnessed an increase in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical intake this year.”

Stating the breakup wise figures, the ministry said that J&K’s newly sanctioned seat capacity comes as part of 44 new medical colleges and 11,732 UG seats added nationwide for the upcoming academic ses
