OELWEIN, Iowa — Firefighters in Oelwein are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged a building on Second Avenue Southeast.
Officials reported that a passerby alerted them to the fire around 8:30 p.m.
Fire crews from Hazleton and Fairbank, along with MercyOne Ambulance, assisted at the scene.
There were no injuries, and the building was unoccupied at the time.
The damage is estimated to be more than $150,000.
Investigators continue to assess the scene.
